Clare Reeve Registered MBACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist
Specialising in the therapy of children, adolescents and young adults ( Adult counselling also available)
My training and counselling approach is mainly psychodynamic, however I have a natural lean towards a more integrative way of working and recognize the need to be flexible, particularly when working with children. My way of working is adapted to suit the individual client’s needs and pulls from all models and theory at times. I offer talking therapy and the use of play, art and sand tray work as a form of communicating as children often work metaphorically. My key approach is non-directive - I accept and work with whatever the young person brings to the session without judgement or prejudice. Ultimately I believe no matter what the model or training background relationship is key, building a rapport and trusted relationship and being attuned to your client and their needs is essential.
I have experience working with; stress, anxiety, friendship difficulties, identity, bullying, self- harm, anger, trauma , bereavement, eating disorders, confidence/ self- esteem , divorce/family separation , attachment issues, School refusal/phobia, sibling difficulties.
