About me

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. I work with individuals, using psychoanalytic theory to draw links between the past and the present, to help you understand your present day feelings, thoughts and behaviour, and to enable you to make changes in your life.

I also offer supervision.

Training, qualifications & experience

After working for some time in other fields, I have worked as a counsellor and therapist since 1995 in the NHS, in voluntary organisations and in private practice.

I trained on the Contemporary Freudian and Independent Training Course at the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy, qualifying in 2001.

I am a Professional Member of WMIP, registered with UKCP.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
