Irena Adelman MBACP (Accred)
A warm, respectful and experienced therapist I provide a non-judgemental and supportive place for you to talk safely and be heard. I help clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, low self-confidence, depression, addiction, family issues, bereavement, relationships and sexuality.
Sometimes life can feel challenging, complicated and overwhelming and you may feel unsure how to cope. Our sessions will give you space to explore what you can do to get through these times. I'll support you to reflect on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and help with the issues that are preventing you from living the life you want.
In the sessions we will deepen your awareness and understanding of how you respond to yourself and others. We will talk through your inner dialogues and thinking patterns. Reflecting on the way you think will help you to understand yourself more fully and new ways of being, thinking and doing will open up enabling you to manage your life and your mind better.
Sessions will help you to disentangle yourself from things that are not serving you well. We'll clarify what you would like to develop and grow in your life and discuss strategies that will support you to make and maintain changes you would like.
We will think about your life experiences and how they may be effecting you now. I will support you to heal past pain so you can live your present life as fully and steadily as possible.
I see counselling as a creative and collaborative process. Together we'll work through what's going on for you and support you to gain new insights, increase your self-awarenesses and develop strategies that improve your well-being.
I offer short and longer term counselling and psychotherapy. Please visit my website for more information about how I work and feel free to contact me by phone or email for an initial conversation. I aim to return all calls and emails within 48 hours.
