Supervision details
I have been offering Person Centred Supervision for over five years , and am very committed to providing a space for Counsellors and other aligned professionals to reflect on their practice , to be supported ,to continue to learn and to be ethical. Since providing supervision I have worked with trainee counsellors , Counsellors starting out on their professional careers , and those with more experience . I currently offer face to face supervision from my Garden Office in Kenilworth and online supervision through Zoom . I predominately work with Counsellors who come from a Person Centred and humanistic orientation , yet also welcome professionals from other disciplines. Theoretically my approach is Person Centred ,having continued my development as a Person Centred Counsellor with further training in Person Centred Couple Counselling and Person Centred Supervision . I have extensive counselling experience, in a GP practice , with children and young people for Relate and De Montfort University , and with adults for a Christian Counselling Service. In my private practice I work with referrals from Employment Assisted Programmes , self-referrals, and deliver Critical Incident Debriefs . My background prior to Counselling , is in Learning disability and Mental health , having worked for Social services and the NHS with these client groups for over thirteen years. I also have experience of working as a Mental Health Advocate , and trained as a Family Mediator .More recently I sat on an Adoption Panel and Fostering Panel . If you which to explore further my supervision services , please do not hesitate to contact me , I would welcome your enquiry.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
