Supervision details

In order to optimise our work alliance with clients, it is beneficial to undertake Supervision on a regular basis.  Clinical Supervisors are there to support therapists with an ever-increasing diversity of clients.  It doesn't mean a therapist isn't 'good enough', but it does mean that therapists can feel supported in the same way that clients feel suppored - it really is  a win-win.

THE WAY I WORK

In my supervision work, I draw on the Seven Eyed model of Supervision developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet.  The model helps us to understand the dynamics at play so we can provide the best therapeutic experience.  The model:

  1. Focuses on clients and explores what and how they present
  2. Explores strategies and interventions used by the therapist with client
  3. Focuses on the relationship between the client and the supervisee (that's YOU!)
  4. Focuses on what's happening for the supervisee in the therapeutic relationship
  5. Focuses on the supervisory relationship (that is between YOU and ME!)
  6. Reflection of the supervisor on their own experience
  7. And explored the wider context of the work, taking into account the client's world.

Important Note: I am currently a Supervisor-in-training.  I will receive my qualification in Clinical Supervision in Spring 2024.   My current price reflects this status.  Please enquire if you're interested in working together for your Supervision needs.

NCPS

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
