Supervision details

I am an integrative supervisor specialising in childhood trauma and self-esteem, including feelings of anxiety, depression, and self-injury. As a therapist, I have been practicing for 5 years and have experience of working in agency and private practice settings.

I provide one-to-one supervision for newly qualified therapists and experienced practitioners, either online or face-to-face, with a choice of either 60-minute or 90-minute sessions, depending on individual requirements and preference. I am happy to work with therapists in private practice or those in an agency/organisational setting, however, as I am in training, I am unable to offer supervision to trainee counsellors.

My approach to supervision is based on the philosophy of requiring open-mindedness, patience, flexibility, empathy, and willingness to enter your world, exploring the relationship you have with yourself, and with your clients.

I take an active role in the relationship, encouraging you to reflect in depth about all aspects of your practice, investing in you to work toward achieving the best outcome, tailored to match your needs. I share knowledge and information when relevant, and promote self-care, self-compassion, and curiosity.

Fees:

I am offering a reduced fee of £30 for 60 minutes and £45 for 90 minutes, either online via Zoom, or face-to-face in Northampton.

The reduced fee will be available until the end of May 2024, and this is limited to 5 supervisees.

If you would like to arrange an initial meeting to discuss your supervision requirements in more detail, or find out more, please contact me via email at ewen.purcell@overstonecounselling.org - emails will be responded to within 48 hours.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
