Supervision details

Going on the journey to find a clinical supervisor that meets your needs and practice I appreciate, is not always easy, so thank you for taking time to read my profile.

If you feel you are currently looking for a supportive, informative, collaborative working relationship which offers warmth, realness, and the space to explore, then I feel I may be the right person to offer you just that.

With over 15 years in the metal health field, 8 years as a practicing counsellor and 3 years within the NHS as a High Intensity Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I feel I can offer you experience and a wealth of knowledge which enables us to work in an integrative way, that supports your individual needs and those of your clients throughout our time together.

I specialise in recurrant depressive episodes which can affect mutltiple areas of a clients life and depending on the presentation, may include, trauma, early attachment experiences, loss, bereavement, relationship breakdowns or life transistions such as redundancy, all of which can have major impacts on a clients sense of self, identity and purpose. This can be tricky to navigate as the client may no longer have in concious awareness where or when they began feeling this way, so the work becomes very explorative and can sometimes feel like a minefield. Within the NHS, this is my main practice as a Person-Centred Experiential, Counselling for Depression, High Intensity Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and with this knowledge and experience, I feel able to support fellow colleagues navigating recurrent/prolonged or high intensity depressive presentations.

As a clinical supervisor, I am currently adopting the Hawkins and Shohet Seven-Eyed Model which I have found a wonderful integrative, relational form of working, which at the heart of any working relationship is key. This model can provide a robust wrapped around approach which ensures you feel safe, confident and competant in your practice which inturn, ensures best practice for your clients.

If you would like to get in touch, I would love to hear from you. I offer a free 15 minute, no obligatory chat, to see if you feel we would be a good match. Should you wish to move forward, I am pleased to be able to offer a 45 minute session free of charge, to again ensure that you feel I am the right person to support your clinical practice.

Following this, my fee's are currently set at:                                                                Up to 60 minutes: £45.00                                                                                                Up to 90 minutes: £60.00

I am based in Southend on Sea for face to face supervision but also have online and telephone availability.

I very much look forward to speaking with you soon

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
