Supervision details
I see supervision as a space to curiously explore the worlds of our clients, together with a skilled other holding a similar intention of experiencing and reflecting on what comes up between us. Born into relation and forever attempting to make sense of the world through the indelible mark these relations imprint upon us, I love exploring and experiencing the paradoxes and complexities that being in relation with another in the world brings. Combining a reflexive experiential being with a fluency of the major theoretical frameworks from a lifelong interest in philosophical, psychological, and therapeutic literature, I am able to articulate, embed and juxtapose theory, ethics and practice to gain a deeper understanding of our, your and your clients being in the world.
My therapeutic experience combines with a long teaching career manly within special educational needs in both mainstream and specialist settings, where many transferable supervisory methods and experiences overlap.
Having been a member of both the BACP and UKCP I have a good upstanding of both ethical frameworks and requirements from supervision,
Please get in touch if you would be interested in meeting to discuss how we might work together.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
