Supervisor Sandra Winterbottom BA Hon's/Dip Counselling/Dip Counselling Supervisor
I offer a facilitative environment where, as with Person Centred Counselling supervisor , the relationship is key. Working as a person centred Supervisor my aim is to provide a safe environment in which the supervisee can have a supportive and meaningful experience. The relationship between supervisor and supervisee has important differences from a relationship between therapist and client, but is still underpinned by the core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. I work from the cyclical model to give me additional perspectives and tools for the supervision process.
I believe the relationship is vital in helping the supervisee feel accepted and not judged essentially helping the supervisee to enhance their self awareness as a trainee counselor both personally and professionally.
I have been a qualified person centred counsellor for 9 years and a counselling supervisor for 4 years. I have my own private practice and have experience of 1-1 and
group supervision working with trainee and qualified counsellors. Here I support good ethical practice in a safe and comfortable environment.
My specialist area is loss and bereavement, body image, identity, life threatening diseases, end of life, trauma and coping with stress. I also support clients experiencing, depression, anxiety, relationship issues.
