From my own experience, I know how important it is to work alongside the right Supervisor as this working alliance can impact significantly on your confidence, practice and progression as a Therapist. I work supportively, reflectively and with challenge where needed/wanted, with the aim of helping my supervisees to explore challenging case material, maintain ethical standards, develop within their work, grow as a professional, recognise strengths, enhance creativity and celebrate good practice.
I believe it is essential to bring to sessions, considerations for the impact that personal life and circumstances can have upon work life, not simply viewing the work in isolation. This benefits awareness of self-care needs and work-life balance. I also consider my relationship with each supervisee as a two way learning process, taking an open approach to life-long learning in the supervision process.
As an integrative therapist I draw upon a wide range of techniques and approaches, which is underpinned by a therapeutic relationship, to offer a tailored service to the individual client. These include Person-Centred, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Therapeutic Coaching.
And just like my therapeutic work, my approach to supervision is integrative too, working with various relational, developmental, coaching and systemic supervision models to inform my practice.
I offer supervision to Student Counsellors, newly qualified Counsellors and experienced Counsellors working in a variety of settings with a wide range of theoretical modalities.
