Supervision details
Hello, and welcome to my supervision profile. I’ve been practicing as a therapist for over 15 years and as a supervisor since 2013. I am a person-centred supervisor, however, I practice in quite an integrative and solution-focused way. Prior to being a counsellor I was a careers adviser and coach so that supports how I work. I have always enjoyed supporting others in their personal & professional development and I bring that to my work as a clinical supervisor by holding and respecting each individual as unique.
I am a specialist in working with sexual violence, childhood abuse and trauma so can bring that specialism into my work as a supervisor.
The majority of my supervision work is now via zoom. I also provide some supervision 'in the room' at the Humber Therapy Centre in Beeston, Nottingham.
I’ve worked as a supervisor both in private practice and in an organisation so can bring that understanding of organisations to my work. I believe whole-heartedly in supporting people to be the best they can be and in providing a service which best suits their needs, whilst holding my responsibilities as an ethical practitioner.
I hold a Certificate in Person-Centred Supervision. I am approved by the SPTI as a placement supervisor. I can work with qualified and student therapists. I've worked with students from Nottingham Uni, SPTI, Keele University & Metanoia. I believe we all learn & grow best when we feel understood & supported and that is my aim in all supervision.
I deliver specialist training in working with survivors of abuse and in working ethically & safely with trauma. I currently supervise individuals working in private practice & in organisations. I provide supervision groups as well as individual support. If you are interested please do get in touch. I'm happy to arrange an initial meeting to discuss your needs and to see if we think we could work together. Fees £55 for one hour £82.50 for 90 minutes. Groups - are charged at an hourly rate of £60 per hour for up to 4 people and £70 per hour for 5 or more.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
