Supervision details
I am a fully qualified supervisor having obtained my qualification in clinical supervision on a course endorsed by the BACP.I have reached Accredited status of the BACP. I am fully trained and qualified to offer remote supervision through an endorsed course by the Association of Counellors and Therapists Online.I supervise both one to one supervisees and also run supervision groups of 6 supervisees weekly for a counselling charity for both qualified and training counsellors to support the counsellor in areas of ethical awareness, exploring and reducing risk and exploring clinical issues in a safe and supportive environment, with adult and couples and children client cases. I have extensive expertise in both adult and child counselling and am currently employed as a supervisor and senior counsellor working in many of the local schools in the Havering Borough. I teach CPD workshops training both qualified and trainee therapists. How I work as a Supervisor is informed from the basis of my training whilst completing a degree in Person Centred Approach and then continuing further to complete another degree as an Integrative Practitioner. I strongly hold the belief that the relationship I aim to form with all supervisees is based on the core conditions of the Person Centred theory whilst being also supportive, informative, educational, restorative and reflective, which will aim to monitor the professional and personal development of the supervisee. My Integrative training which includes Psychodynamic Approach, Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy, Focusing Techniques, Play Therapy and Neuroscience for counsellors, will offer an overall Holistic Approach which the supervisee may draw upon in order to inform and enhance their learning. My fees begin at £40 per hour of supervision for trainees. Please contact me by email or mobile to set up a meeting for you to decide if I am the right supervisor to fit your needs.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
