I bring over 40 years of experience as a therapist, and qualified as an Integrative Clinical Supervisor, at The Minster Centre, London in 2012. I will guide and support you to either set up or to enhance and develop your private practice, through self development and client work.
Supervision continues to be the most valuable support and guidance for my own work and my professional development as a competent, confident, effective therapist and supervisor.
As an integrative clinical supervisor, I support therapists working with a range of modalities and support you to develop your own unique way of working. Supervision is an essential way for me to help you as a counsellor to develop and sustain a professional practice.
I will provide you with regular and ongoing opportunities to reflect in-depth on all aspects of your practice. I can offer weekly, fortnightly or monthly supervision, individual or group I will support you to work as effectively, safely, and ethically as possible. I will also help you to develop the personal resourcefulness required to undertake every part of client work. Supervision is much more than case management. It includes working in-depth on the relationship between yourself and your client in order to work towards desired outcomes and positive effects. This requires adequate levels of privacy, safety, and containment for you as my supervisee to undertake this work. I offer a supportive environment where you can regularly discuss and reflect on your work openly without direction or judgment.
The focus of supervision may include the client's material, you as the counsellor's process, theory, ethical issues, and self-care. My aim is to support you with your needs, to enable you to experience more awareness, confidence, and ethical competence to provide clients with the best possible therapy as well as assisting and supporting your professional experiential development. I appreciate many challenges and difficulties that can arise and what is needed to help you to explore, feel confident, and competent. I will help you to develop embracing BACP ethical guidelines, to focus on client needs and separate from your needs, develop a heightened personal awareness, tune into parallel processing, explore differences in feelings and emotions and maintain strong boundaries.
I will always work with you to develop a trusting, professional, safe, and explorative supervisory relationship, where you will experience growth in your personal development and client competency. I will help you develop working confidently embracing your client work with a healthy curiosity, to focus on strong client relationships. I will always support any vulnerabilities and struggles, difficult issues, that may come up through challenging working. You will continue to experience relational, developmental growth as I help you to process and work through your own vulnerabilities. I will help you to feel authentic as you develop as a professional and competent counsellor and psychotherapist. I will support you to process any personal or client-based challenges to enhance your awareness, presence, and engage effectively with your own way of working professionally with your clients. It is imperative that you find ways to take care of yourself, I will help you promote yourself and develop a client base and help you work to increase your client base. BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
