Supervisor Becky Whittaker - Registered MBACP Adv. Dip Couns Counsellor & Supervisor
I am delighted to offer professional supervision for therapists. During the last 9 years in private practice I have grown to fully love and appreciate my supervision. I have enjoyed using this time to expand on my client work, to learn more about myself and to challenge my ideas around building a practice. Supervision has been a window into so much for me and I know that it has been an integral part of my development not only as a counsellor, but also personally.
It has been a real passion and desire for me to support other therapists, and with this in mind I am now able to offer professional supervision that is dynamic, supportive and friendly. I would love to be with you, learn about you, help you to further learn about yourself, understand your clients and see how you are finding both the challenges and elation that this type of work brings.
I know what an isolated profession counselling and therapy can be. I want you to look forward to coming for supervision; I would love it if we can roll up our sleeves and delve into all of your thoughts, feelings, worries and concerns - I want to be alongside you in your career!
In addition to working with qualified therapists, I also have a special interest in working with trainee counsellors; helping to build confidence and self worth as they work through all that placements and counselling courses throw at them. I am pleased to offer a concessionary rate for the duration of their course (diploma / level 4 or higher).
My Work As A Supervisor
After many years in private practice, I decided that I want to work alongside other counsellors and therapists and step into the world of supervision. I undertook my NCS recognised Supervision Diploma with Safe Space For Counselling. My supervision work is underpinned by my years of working in private practice and the experiential supervision course that was led by Ken Rabone.
My approach is that of being on a journey together, lets talk, lets experiment but above all, we can be in it together!
My training is based on the Shohet and Hawkins Seven Eyed approach and I have very much enjoyed integrating it into my work. I am a registered BACP member and practice with their ethical framework firmly in mind.
I offer supervision for both individuals and also consider running supervision for groups if that is required. If you would like to learn more please do get in touch, I know how important it is to find the right supervisor, so, with this in mind I am pleased to offer a free, no obligation half an hour meeting where you can come and meet with me to see if I am the the supervisor for you.
My aim to offer you a space to talk about clients, your process with your clients, to be real and open about some of your professional and personal challenges and to help you to further your career or expand your private practice.
