Supervision details
What can I expect from your Supervision with me? Feeling comfortable with me as your supervisor is important so you can fully share all aspects of your professional practice. Together we can co-create a style of working, that suits you. You can develop and deepen your work with your clients. Supervision can help gain a different perspective, or fresh eyes on challenges you face in your work, within your own frame of reference. Supervision encompasses various philosophical approaches such as integrative, humanistic and Transactional Analysis and relational psychotherapy You might be an integrative counsellor or psychotherapist wanting to either integrate more Transactional Analysis into your work or want to consider other ways of working therapeutically. My knowledge and experience as an integrative UKCP-accredited psychotherapist and supervisor can help you in supervision in these kinds of ways. There is either the option of face-to-face or online supervision. I enjoy working with trainees and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists at varying stages of their professional development. I have undertaken specialist training as a supervisor and as an educator working online. I am also a senior accredited member of the BACP. I provide both face-to-face and online supervision via the secure online video platform called Zoom. Group or individual supervision can be used to support you in any area of your professional development, whatever stage you are at on your journey. Together we can explore what you need from your supervision. Here are some examples of things you may wish to do: Facilitate your professional development in terms of integrating theory into practice. Deepen your knowledge and perspectives of client work. Explore themes and issues in relation to your evolving professional identity, particularly if you are working towards a written or oral exam or perhaps accreditation with a professional body. Receive practical help with the completion of academic work if you are working towards a written or oral exam or accreditation. Work in more depth with your clients. Develop awareness about your client’s process and how to think about this theoretically. Explore your feelings in response to your clients (countertransference). This can help understand your client’s process (social diagnosis), your process and/or the inter-subjective dynamic between you. Share challenges and issues arising in your client's work. I also provide supervision of supervision for therapists training to be supervisors and supervision of teaching for therapists engaging in teaching therapy.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKATA (formally the Institute of Transactional Analysis) is the national UK Transactional Analysis organisation representing all fields of TA theory and practice. TA can be used as an effective tool in a wide range of contexts such as: personal development, management, coaching, counselling, psychotherapy, teaching, education, parenting and more.
