About me

I know how difficult it can be to ask for help because I've been in that position myself.

My own experience of counselling showed me just how life-changing it can be to have a space that is entirely your own, a place where you can talk openly without judgement, guilt or pressure. Having someone alongside me who listened, understood and helped me make sense of what I was experiencing inspired me to retrain as a counsellor so that I could offer that same safe, supportive space to others.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a teacher, giving me valuable experience supporting children, young people and adults with different personalities, needs and life experiences. Today, I work with clients from the age of eight upwards and am DBS checked.

I describe my approach as compassionate, collaborative and empowering.

As a pluralistic counsellor, I believe there is no single therapeutic approach that suits everyone. Every person is unique, so I adapt the way we work to fit you as an individual rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model of therapy. My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely heard, respected and accepted, allowing us to work together in a way that feels right for you.

I often draw upon a range of approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. Rather than simply talking about difficulties, I also like to help clients understand what is happening within their mind and body. I believe that psychoeducation is incredibly empowering, as understanding why we think, feel and respond in certain ways can reduce self-blame, increase self-awareness and support lasting change.

Although therapy can involve exploring difficult experiences, it doesn't always have to feel heavy. Where appropriate, I use humour sensitively and naturally, helping clients feel comfortable and at ease. I also believe that therapy shouldn't end when the session finishes, so where appropriate, I offer practical strategies, techniques and tools that you can use between sessions to continue building confidence and resilience in everyday life.

You are the expert on your own life. My role isn't to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you, helping you understand yourself more deeply, recognise your strengths and move towards the life you want to live.

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Many people seek therapy because they want to understand themselves better, improve relationships, build confidence, manage stress or simply have a dedicated space to reflect and grow.

Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to carry everything on your own anymore.

My Services

I offer professional counselling for children (aged eight and above), young people and adults in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, sleep issues or simply feeling overwhelmed, we will work together to understand what is happening and find an approach that best supports your individual needs.

Because I work pluralistically, our sessions are tailored to you. We may explore your thoughts, emotions, past experiences, relationships or current challenges, while also developing practical coping strategies that you can apply in everyday life. Therapy is collaborative, meaning we regularly review our work together to ensure it continues to meet your goals and what feels most helpful for you.

Alongside counselling, I also offer hypnotherapy as a separate service or as part of an integrated therapeutic approach. Some clients choose counselling alone, some choose hypnotherapy, while others find that combining both approaches provides additional benefit. If we feel together that hypnotherapy may support your goals, we can discuss integrating it into our work. This is always your choice, and I will explain the process fully before we begin so that you feel informed, comfortable and in control at every stage.

My areas of particular interest include:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Burnout
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Trauma
  • Relationship difficulties
    Sleep difficulties
  • Children and young people's emotional wellbeing

My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you feel listened to, understood and empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes. I hope that every client leaves therapy not only with a greater understanding of themselves, but also with the confidence, knowledge and practical tools to navigate life's challenges long after our work together has ended.

Whether you're taking your first step into therapy or returning after time away, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. Together, we'll create a space where you can feel heard, understood and supported as you work towards the life you want to live.

Further information

Choosing the right therapist is an important decision, and it's important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with.

I offer a free initial consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, discuss what has brought you to therapy and decide whether I am the right therapist for you. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

Sessions are available in person from my private therapy room in New Milton, or online, offering flexibility to fit around work, family and other commitments.

I offer counselling, hypnotherapy and an integrated approach that combines both, allowing therapy to be tailored to your individual needs and preferences. Any use of hypnotherapy is always discussed in advance and is entirely your choice.

I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether this is your first experience of counselling or you're returning after previous therapy, you will be welcomed with warmth, compassion and without judgement.

If you have any questions before booking, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm always happy to discuss how I work and whether I may be the right person to support you.
