Working with horses has fast become one of the most fascinating approaches to healing, psychotherapy and personal growth. Although the term generally used is ‘equine assisted therapy’, Pam Billinge prefers to call her approach, embodied horse-led learning because she feels that it is her who assists the horses in this work, not the other way round!

In a fascinating morning of talks, readings and story-telling, Pam will share the answers to questions such as:

  • What is it that makes this interaction between human and horse so transformational, so quickly?
  • How does the nature of the horse, and the symbiotic 6,000 year old relationship between man and equine, succeed in helping us to be the people we are meant to be?
  • What role does nature play in the process?
  • Why is this approach perhaps the most profoundly embodied which exists?

If you are interested in horse-led work, embodied psychotherapy or eco-psychotherapy or you would simply like to rub up against the magic of this work, this engaging session is for you!

Prior to training as a body psychotherapist, Pam had worked in industry in HR and general management for two decades. It was during her psychotherapy training that she began to realise the intense connection between human emotions and horse behaviour. Slowly she evolved her ground-breaking approach to horse-led therapy and learning, and in 2008 her professional practice moved from the therapy room to the open field. Pam also works with individuals and teams from organisations in the public and private sector, with the horses, to support them in culture change, leadership or team development programmes.

Pam is author of: 'The spell of the horse', 'stories of healing' and 'personal transformation' published by Blackbird Books. Signed copies will be available at her talk, and are also available from Amazon and on order from all good bookstores.
