This experiential workshop is aimed at trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who wish to increase their awareness of porn addiction in order to offer a more effective therapeutic service for clients.
It focuses on:
- Can porn be addictive?
- Brain changes in porn users
- When/how clients might present - assessment
- Ethical considerations
- Focus of therapy
- Opportunity, attachments & trauma
- The cycle of addiction
- Breaking the cycle & rewiring the brain
- Support & relapse prevention.

Aileen George (MBACP-Accred) has 11 years' experience in private practice as a counsellor, supervisor & trainer. Aileen gained the ISAT (Institute of Sex Addiction Therapy) diploma in 2016 and works with both addicts and partners. Following training with StopSo she has also worked with offenders. She is a registered member of ATSAC.
