About me

Hello, I’m Yasmine Najib (she/her), an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in East London. I offer both short- and long-term therapy for adults, either in person at HQ Therapy Haggerston, London E8 on Tuesdays and Hackney Therapy Centre, London E8 on Fridays. Sessions last 50 minutes and are typically held weekly.

I understand that starting therapy or returning after a break can feel daunting. Having personally experienced the therapeutic process, I appreciate the courage it takes to begin this journey. My aim is to provide a welcoming and safe space where you can bring whatever is on your mind. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings, make sense of your experiences, and consider ways to move forward.

I adopt an integrative approach, blending psychodynamic and person-centred practices. We’ll explore how your past experiences and unconscious thoughts may be influencing your current feelings and behaviours, while ensuring that the sessions are guided by you. You are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you as we work together towards your goals.

I focus on the therapeutic relationship itself, believing that the connection between us can be a powerful tool for change. By building trust, we can explore patterns and dynamics that may arise in other areas of your life. I provide a non-judgemental and supportive environment where you can express yourself freely and work through challenges at your own pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Background in communications and public relations, which has enhanced my deep understanding of human connection, empathy, and listening.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
