About me

I offer in person and online therapeutic interventions for young people and adults, as well as specialised parenting support sessions. Face to face sessions are held in a private cabin in Ashburton. When you start sessions with me, I will help you to overcome any barriers or big emotions that are weighing you down. My job is to help you become the best version of yourself, so that you can live your best life. For me, this is what counselling is all about - helping you when you feel stuck or overwhelmed, and then getting you to a place where you are back in the driving seat and in control of your life.

I am an empathetic, understanding person who is both easy to talk to and a great listener. In my opinion successful counselling requires a strong therapeutic relationship to be established, so it is important you find the right counsellor for you.  Attending a free consultation with me allows you to see if I am the right person to work with so please don't hesitate to arrange a meeting with me before committing to further sessions. This can be a telephone call, or a video call on zoom to chat with one another and ask questions.

I offer a range of different styles to suit your individual needs and I hold a specialist diploma in working with children and young people, as well as over 8 years experience of working with young people and families in my role as a social worker, fostering social worker, support worker and therapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
