About me

Hello, I am Vicky

I offer a private practice for relationship counselling and individual counselling, both face-to-face and online.

Is your relationship under strain from change in situations such as finances, physical health, or roles of others?

Are you struggling to communicate, always feeling that you are having the same argument?

Do you feel disconnected and wish you could get back to how you were?

Has intimacy declined?

Has there been an affair or trust broken?

Does life feel like it is getting on top of you?

Do you feel you are not heard?

Is it hard to turn to others because you don't want to be a burden or feel misunderstood?

Would you like support with anxiety, depression, loss, or other worries?

I provide a safe, non-judgemental, empathic, confidential environment for you to explore these areas.

I aim to walk alongside you and support you in determining a way forward in your current situation. We can explore together what options you would like to pursue.

I use a variety of theories and techniques to support you. My role is not to tell you what to do but to explore what you are bringing with you from your background and experiences that may influence your way of being.

We will work collaboratively on achieving your goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am experienced in working with individuals and couples. I have practiced in person, online and via the telephone.

My experience started working with a national suicide crisis charity, then in person at a charity to help those with low-income to access counselling. From here I worked nationally online focusing on general counselling. As my experience grew I added relationship counselling via a national relationship agency which I still work for alongside my private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
