About me
Hi, I’m Veronika, a person-centred counsellor offering a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel heard.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not quite sure what’s wrong, just that something doesn’t feel right. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or noticing patterns in your relationships or the way you think and feel. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
I work with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, overthinking, low mood, ADHD, self-esteem and confidence, as well as relationship issues, trauma, experiences of abuse, and general mental health difficulties. I often support people who feel stuck or unsure about how to move forward.
My approach is person-centred, which means our work is led by you. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable to explore things at your own pace, without pressure or judgement. Some sessions may focus on understanding patterns or exploring things more deeply, while others might simply be about having a space to talk and feel supported.
I have a particular interest in anxiety, confidence, body image and emotional wellbeing, and I aim to help you feel clearer, more grounded, and more able to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
I offer both in-person sessions in Manchester and online sessions, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.
If you feel like this could be helpful, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, where I trained in working with a range of therapeutic approaches and how to adapt them to suit each individual client. My training has helped me develop a flexible, relational way of working, while keeping the focus on each person’s unique experience.
Alongside this, I also hold a BA (Hons) in Youth, Community and Families, which has given me a broader understanding of the social and emotional factors that can impact mental health and wellbeing, as well as experience working with diverse individuals and communities.
I have completed over 150 hours of supervised counselling practice, working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, relationship issues and life transitions. I currently run my own private practice, working with clients both in-person and online, and I also work alongside Manchester Counselling, supporting individuals with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I am a registered member of the BACP and work in line with their ethical framework. I attend regular clinical supervision and place a strong emphasis on reflective practice to ensure I am offering safe and effective support. I am also committed to ongoing professional development and continue to build on my skills and knowledge.
My dissertation, “Exploring the Effectiveness of Integrative Therapies for PTSD,” reflects my interest in trauma-informed practice and how different approaches can be used to support recovery.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
