About me
Hi, I’m Dr Tracy,
I am a clinical psychologist and trauma specialist with a particular commitment to supporting women through the emotional and physical challenges that shape their lives. My work weaves together trauma recovery, including narcissistic abuse, neurodivergence, relationship patterns, and the complexities of women’s health, including chronic illness, fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, perinatal stress, and the ongoing pressures of caregiving and parenting.
Many of the women I work with carry burdens that have been minimised or misunderstood for years. They come to me exhausted by anxiety, emotional shutdowns, and the constant pressure to keep functioning despite overwhelming strain. Some are navigating the invisible layers of chronic illness or hormonal transitions that affect mood, energy, and identity. Others are grieving baby loss or struggling with fertility, often in silence. Many are mothers holding the emotional load of their families while neglecting their own needs. Many are also neurodivergent women who have spent years masking or feeling out of sync within their relationships and communication patterns.
I offer a therapeutic space where your story is met with empathy, clarity, and a deep understanding of the nervous system. My approach integrates trauma informed therapy, somatic awareness, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Transactional Analysis, Compassion Focused Therapy, attachment repair, and practical regulation tools. I also bring specialised knowledge, including lived experience of ADHD and Autism in women, and the ways neurodivergence interacts with relationships, identity, and self-worth.
Much of my work supports women recovering from narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and emotionally destructive relationships. Many clients arrive feeling confused, self blaming, or disconnected from their own intuition. Together we gently rebuild boundaries, self trust, emotional safety, and the ability to communicate with confidence. We explore the patterns that were formed through survival and create new ways of relating that honour your needs rather than erasing them.
I also work closely with women experiencing fertility challenges, pregnancy after loss, traumatic birth, and the layered grief that accompanies reproductive health struggles. This includes supporting women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, perimenopause, chronic fatigue, and the psychological impact of living in a body that has been dismissed or misunderstood by others. Many women say that therapy becomes the first place where they feel fully believed.
If you are seeking a therapist who understands the physical, emotional, and relational realities of women’s lives, I offer a grounded, warm, and collaborative space to unravel your story safely. My aim is to help you feel held rather than overwhelmed, understood rather than judged, and supported as you move toward healing, clarity, and a renewed sense of self.
You do not have to navigate any of this alone. There is space here for all of it.
What is therapy?
Therapy is a safe and supportive process where we explore the challenges you are facing and find ways to move forward. It isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about understanding your experiences, making sense of your thoughts and feelings, and helping you reconnect with your strengths.
There are many different types of therapy, and in your first session we’ll discuss which approach feels most appropriate for you. Sometimes therapy is sought because of a particular difficulty, and sometimes it’s simply a space for self-discovery and growth.
What issues can therapy help with?
People come to therapy for many reasons. It may be anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, loss, or coping with life changes. For adolescents, it may involve navigating identity, friendships, school pressures, or family relationships.
Equally, therapy can be valuable even if there’s no single issue, simply wanting space to reflect, explore, and grow is reason enough.
What happens in sessions?
Sessions are shaped around you.
Some approaches focus more on thoughts, others on feelings or behaviours.
For some clients, therapy can feel practical and structured, with tasks to try between sessions.
For others, it may feel more exploratory, creating space to reflect and find new perspectives.
Together, we’ll decide what fits best for you. Sometimes therapy will have a set number of sessions, with reviews along the way, and sometimes it will be more open-ended depending on your needs.
My aim is always to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered, whether you’re seeking therapy, coaching, or a blend of both.
Training, qualifications & experience
Training
I began practising in 1999, initially training as a Clinical Hypnotherapist before pursuing a career in psychology. I went on to complete a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Forensic Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Over the years, I have undertaken extensive specialist training across a wide range of therapeutic approaches, enabling me to work flexibly and integratively depending on each client’s needs. I utilise approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Traumatic Incident Recovery.
Alongside therapy, I offer Jungian Life Coaching, combining depth psychology with neuroscience to support meaningful change. I am also a certified Spiritual Emergence Coach®, specialising in differentiating spiritual experiences from mental health concerns and supporting the integration of profound psycho-spiritual awakenings.
My background includes training in somatic and body-based approaches, always delivered in a trauma-informed way. As a registered Yoga Teacher (500 hours) and Meditation Teacher, I integrate embodied practices into psychological and coaching work where appropriate.
Experience
In addition to clinical practice, I remain linked to the academic world, teaching and marking on Masters and Doctoral university programmes.
I have extensive experience within the NHS, working across all age groups. A specialist area of knowledge is the complex presentations found in forensic and secure settings, where I have worked across low, medium, and high security hospitals as well as within the prison service.
Earlier in my career, before completing my doctorate, I worked in the corporate sector within a blue-chip company’s communications and change management team, undertaking organisational consultations and supporting staff wellbeing and transitions.
I am also a registered member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, regularly completing specialist assessments and medico-legal reporting.

Neuropsychological Assessments
Life events such as illness, injury, or sudden changes in behaviour can leave people and families searching for answers. A neuropsychological assessment provides clarity by mapping out cognitive strengths and weaknesses, identifying changes, and offering practical guidance.
I offer assessments for:
- ADHD and learning difficulties (including dyslexia)
- Dementia and cognitive decline
- Head trauma, strokes, tumours, epilepsy
- Personality, emotional, or behavioural change
- Neurodegenerative disease
- Road traffic accidents and personal injury
- Mental capacity judgements
- Workplace or legal/court purposes
What to expect
A written report is provided (usually within 21 days) and tailored to the purpose of the referral. Reports include background history, current presentation, a cognitive profile, and clear recommendations. Expedited reports can be arranged when needed.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a natural state we all experience, those quiet moments before falling asleep or just as we wake. In therapy, this state allows the subconscious mind to be accessed, creating powerful opportunities for change.
Hypnotherapy can be particularly helpful for:
- Anxiety, panic attacks, and stress
- Phobias, sleep problems, and nightmares
- Trauma recovery and emotional healing
- Pain management, IBS, migraines
- Habits (smoking, nail biting, teeth grinding)
- Confidence, exam nerves, and performance anxiety
Each session includes personalised hypnosis, with recordings provided for continued use. You’ll also be taught self-hypnosis techniques to help embed lasting change.
Expert Witness Services
I provide independent psychological assessments and reports for the courts and legal system. Areas of expertise include:
- Criminal and forensic cases (fitness to plead, risk assessment, responsibility)
- Parenting capacity and child protection proceedings
- Personal injury, PTSD, and victims of crime
- Neuropsychological conditions and capacity
- Workplace stress and chronic pain
Reports are impartial, comprehensive, and delivered within agreed timeframes. To avoid conflicts of interest, I do not provide therapy to clients assessed for legal purposes.
Jungian Life Coaching
Jungian Life Coaching goes beyond conventional coaching by working with both the conscious and unconscious mind. Drawing on Jungian psychology and neuroscience, I help you identify hidden patterns, unlock potential, and step into a more authentic life.
Focus areas include:
- Life purpose and soul direction
- Conscious parenting and family dynamics
- Healthy relationships and emotional intimacy
- Leaving abusive or narcissistic relationships
- Female empowerment and self-expression
This work isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about deep, lasting transformation.
Spiritual Emergence Coaching
For some, growth comes through extraordinary experiences: mystical visions, near-death experiences, kundalini awakening, or shamanic journeys. These moments can be life-changing, but also confusing or destabilising without the right support.
As a Spiritual Emergence Coach® (trained by IMHU), I provide guidance for safely integrating these experiences so they become sources of resilience, peace, and meaning. I work with individuals who have experienced:
- Mystical or near-death experiences
- Kundalini awakenings or psychic openings
- Shamanic journeying or ritual initiations
- Plant medicine or psychedelic experiences
- Transformative events triggered by stress, trauma, or intensive practice
Integration prevents misdiagnosis, reduces fear and isolation, and allows these powerful events to be woven into a coherent life narrative.
Whether you are seeking clarity through assessment, healing through therapy and hypnotherapy, or growth through coaching and spiritual integration, my aim is to provide a safe, professional, and transformative space where lasting change can take root.
