About me
If you've found yourself here, searching for the right counsellor, let me introduce myself. I'm Tracey Stovold, an experienced integrative therapist with over three decades of dedicated practice in supporting individuals through life's most challenging journeys. As an MBACP registered counsellor, I've helped countless people navigate trauma, relationship difficulties, and personal transformation and have over 20 years of experience working within a highly respected, award-winning charitable organisation in Southampton. To explore whether we might be a good fit for working together, I offer a free of charge, no obligation introductory call. I am within easy reach from the M27, M3 and M271.
Perhaps you're grappling with feelings of betrayal, broken trust, facing difficulties with intimacy and relationships. Maybe you’re carrying the sense that life has lost its meaning and feel stuck or lacking direction. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, or grief stemming from the loss of a loved one or a significant relationship. Whatever brings you here, I deeply understand that taking the step to begin counselling can feel daunting. Choosing the right person to sit with, someone you can trust and feel safe with, is an important and personal decision.
With a compassionate and holistic approach, I integrate traditional talking therapy with body-centred techniques, drawing from yogic and somatic principles to help clients reconnect with themselves and foster lasting well-being. My practice creates a warm, non-judgmental space where we can explore even the most sensitive aspects of your experience. Guided by the belief that the mind and body are deeply interconnected, I work collaboratively to help you understand and process both the emotional and physical aspects of your journey.
Drawing from almost thirty years of experience, I specialise in supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges, including:
- Relationship breakdowns (marital, familial)
- Partnership difficulties, including physical and psychological intimacy
- Sexual and domestic violence recovery
- Childhood trauma and abuse
- Acute and complex trauma healing
- Anxiety, panic attacks, and depression
- Stress management and holistic wellbeing
Each therapeutic journey is unique, and I tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs. My approach blends evidence-based practices with deep emotional support, incorporating CBT, mindfulness, gentle movement, and body awareness techniques.
Together, we create a pathway that allows you to process emotions, release tension, and build lasting resilience.
My integrative approach is built on the foundation of a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship. In our work together, you'll find a warm, caring, and grounded presence. I believe deeply in your innate capacity to heal and discover what's right for you. While the journey may feel challenging at times, I'm here to walk beside you, helping you uncover your own wisdom and strength - whether that means finding resolution, peace, or a renewed sense of wellbeing.
To help you decide if we’re the right fit, I offer a free telephone consultation with no obligation to proceed with therapy. Give me a call, and we can explore how we might work together to build the trusting relationship necessary for meaningful growth and healing.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
