About me

Welcome
Hello, I'm Tracey, a qualified counsellor offering a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. You may be used to coping on your own. On the outside, things might look fine, but underneath you may be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck, or simply aware that something isn't quite right.
Perhaps you're dealing with grief, the impact of difficult experiences, a significant life change, or feelings you can't easily explain. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
How I can Help
I offer a space where you don't have to filter yourself or pretend you're okay.
People often come to me when they:
Feel overwhelmed but aren't sure why
Struggle with overthinking or anxiety
Are carrying the impact of past experiences
Are dealing with loss, grief, or significant life changes
Feel disconnected from themselves, others, or the life they want to be living
If you've been holding things in for a long time, we can start there.

My Approach
As a person-centred counsellor, I won't analyse you or tell you what to do. Instead, I'll listen carefully and support you in making sense of what's going on for you, at a pace that feels right.
I work in a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-inclusive way, recognising how past experiences and individual differences can shape the way we experience the world.  My aim is to create a safe, accepting space where you feel heard, understood, and free to be yourself.
I work with an awareness of:
The lasting impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences
The many forms grief can take
The challenges of constantly adapting just to get through
The strengths and challenges that can come with neurodivergence
I also have experience supporting women in complex circumstances, including within the criminal justice system.

Sessions
I offer a range of counselling options, allowing you to choose the approach that feels most comfortable for you:
🪑 Face-to-Face Counselling

💻 Online Counselling

📞 Telephone Counselling

🌿 Walk and Talk Therapy

Face-to-face sessions are available in Didsbury and at Lymm Marina, welcoming clients from across Manchester and Cheshire. Online and telephone sessions offer greater flexibility, allowing you to access support wherever you are.
As an alternative to meeting in a therapy room, walk-and-talk sessions provide an opportunity to talk while spending time outdoors. Many people find that walking side by side feels more natural and less intense than sitting face to face. The movement and open surroundings can help create a sense of space, perspective, and calm.
Whatever format you choose, you'll have a supportive and confidential space to explore whatever is on your mind.

What Sessions Are Like
You might arrive with a lot to say, or no idea where to start. Both are welcome.
Together, we'll work with whatever feels important to you in that moment.
Over time, many people find that they:
Feel less alone with their thoughts
Understand themselves more clearly
Feel more connected to themselves and others
Feel better able to cope with life's challenges

Getting Started
Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you're used to managing things on your own.
If you're considering counselling and would like to explore how I can support you, please feel free to get in touch. I offer a free initial conversation so you can get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you may have. You're free to decide what feels right for you, and there's no pressure to continue.

CLIENT REVIEWS

"Tracey has been a wonderful therapist. She has always allowed me to be open about anything that I would like to share, and asks meaningful questions along the way. Her type of therapy is great for those who want to find a way to help themselves, by talking about experiences. Therapy with her has allowed me to get better insight into how I feel and approach certain situations. I had a lot of built up emotions and have dealt with mental health issues for a long time, but I feel within just a few weeks I have gotten to understand myself better and have better insight into how I can help myself."
