About me

My name is Toni and I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor who takes a Humanisitc approach which means I focus on your needs and what you would like to explore and work on.

I am committed to supporting people to make positive changes through therapy and have achieved this for many years. During this time I have developed and maintained excellent working relationships with my clients and this is a particular strength of mine. I am familiar with CBT having covered this in my psychotherapy and counselling training and used a number of the techniques and am also an ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) practitioner, which falls under the CBT umbrella.

I am kind, warm and caring and always go the extra mile for my clients. I believe that when clients are given the right space, support and guidance they can learn to manage their lives and thrive again. I am easy to talk to, approachable and friendly. I will always be honest with you and we will work together to find the best solutions to your probelms. I come from a working class background and am therefore, very down to earth.

I am now in private practice and very much look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked successfully with clients for over 9 years presenting with a variety of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance misuse, mental health issues, physical health issues, anger, eating disorders and homelessness and are from diverse backgrounds and differing cultures. This work was in a drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation centre where I also led and managed teams.

I also hold 3 diplomas in Health and Social Care including one in Leadership and Management.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
