About us
If you’re here, chances are something doesn’t feel right.
You might be feeling anxious, burnt out, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself anymore. Maybe you’ve been holding it all together for too long, or you can’t switch your mind off. You might not even have the words for it — just a knowing that something needs to change.
And then comes the hard part… trying to find the right counsellor.
Scrolling through profiles, second-guessing, wondering who will actually understand you — it can feel like another overwhelming task when you’re already struggling.
That’s where The Mind Hack comes in.
We take that pressure off by helping you (or your child) connect with the right counsellor for you — simply, quickly, and without the stress.
We support adults and children with anxiety, stress, trauma, burnout, low mood, and emotional overwhelm, offering professional counselling and EMDR therapy both online worldwide and in person in Glengormley, Newtownabbey.
Our approach is personal, trauma-informed, and tailored to you — helping you understand what’s going on, feel more in control, and build a practical toolbox for life so you can move forward with more clarity and balance.
This isn’t about adding more pressure.
It’s about making support feel easier, accessible, and right for you — from the very first step.
Training, qualifications & experience
At The Mind Hack, you’re supported by a team of counsellors with a wide range of experience, skills, and specialist training. Together, our team brings over 100 years of combined experience in helping people across Northern Ireland feel more supported, understood, and emotionally grounded.
We know it matters who you open up to. That’s why every counsellor at The Mind Hack is fully qualified, professionally registered, and carefully selected for their compassion, professionalism, and ability to meet people where they’re at.
Our team offers support across many areas including stress, anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, family challenges, work-related pressures, and emotional overwhelm. We have counsellors who specialise in working with adults, teenagers, and children, ensuring individuals of all ages can access the right support.
Because no two people are the same, our counsellors bring a variety of therapeutic approaches—explained in simple, human language during your first appointment. This means we can match you with someone whose way of working suits your personality, your situation, and the type of support you feel comfortable with.
Many of our counsellors also have additional experience in areas such as:
- Supporting people through trauma and difficult life experiences
Working within schools, community organisations, and wellbeing programmes - Providing support for children, young people, and families
- Helping individuals develop coping tools when life feels overwhelming
- Offering both short-term and longer-term support based on your needs
You don’t need to know what “type” of counselling you need—we guide you through that. What matters most is that you feel safe, supported, and understood. Our role is to make sure you’re matched with the right person from the very beginning, whether that’s online or face-to-face in our calm, private therapy rooms.
At The Mind Hack, you’re in capable, caring hands every step of the way.
Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
