About us
We are a private counselling and psychotherapy centre based at Westcliff Station. We provide therapy for busy individuals, couples, children and families.
Our team work with you to help you explore what is going on for you, your internal world and relational dynamics. Helping you to understand and overcome issues that you might be finding challenging right now.
At The Henry Centre we understand that coming to therapy is a very personal decision. Sometimes it is work stress or relationship difficulties. Sometimes it’s and on going issue that has been present for some time. For others it is due to a particular life crisis. We endeavour to make your journey as safe and supportive as possible. From your first point of contact you will be looked after by our team until you are ready to move on.
You can be sure when you are seen at the centre you will be seeing a thoroughly qualified, usually degree level therapist and all of our team are registered or accredited with a reputable governing body such as; BACP, UKCP or BPC.

Training, qualifications & experience
Our therapists range in experience, training and qualifications.
Our therapists are selected due to their professionalism and ethical practice. Every member of our team is fully insured and registered with one of the UK’s counselling and therapy associations.
Our more senior therapists will be qualified to masters level and/or be fully accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
We also have more recently qualified and diploma level counsellors. As well as offering a low cost service to those on low incomes.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information
Our fees range from £20 for our low cost service to £80 for our most experienced and qualified therapists. All fees are per 50 min session.
