Teresa Kennimouth - MBACP
Hi, I'm Teresa, and my aim is to provide a framework that will allow you to articulate and process difficult feelings or experiences that you are facing.
I offer face2face, online and telephone sessions, as well as a safe, calm and supportive space to talk. I am experienced in a wide range of emotional and relationship difficulties, working with individuals, couples and families.
Therapy sessions provide an opportunity for you to feel understood and supported, which can often bring relief and a renewed capacity to cope.
Together, we can help you to gain insight into yourself, a greater awareness of the different aspects of what you're feeling and what's happening within you. Therapy will give you more choices and make you feel more connected with yourself which, in turn, will allow you to be more connected with other people.
The relationship between therapist and client is an important one.
This is why I offer you an initial appointment to give you an opportunity to talk openly about your concerns and a chance to experience how we might work together. What you choose to talk about will be in confidence, and we can think together about what you are hoping for from therapy.
If you have any questions or concerns, please 'Message me' as above.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified relational counsellor with over 15 years of experience working in addiction, mental health, trauma and abuse. I hold a qualification in psychodynamic counselling, person centred counselling, CBT and many certificates in different areas of counselling and psychotherapy.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
