About me

I am a qualified transpersonal counsellor trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London. I specialise in working with those struggling with trauma, particularly in the LGBTQ+ community, migrants, and those living with chronic health conditions. I have experience of working with depression, anxiety, and loss of purpose and meaning, as well as the sense of overwhelm and despair that life’s challenges sometimes bring.

Why choose to work with me?

We all need help sometimes, but we don't always know what is wrong and need a skilled eye to help us see ourselves more clearly.

I believe that mind, feelings, and body all work together, so I may draw upon other skills to help you if I feel it is needed. This may include health advice related to diet and lifestyle or being referred on to other practitioners.

Though I offer short-term therapy, lasting change takes time to build. The key to successful therapeutic work is establishing a strong therapeutic alliance with a therapist you can trust and to work co-creatively towards agreed goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained at Level 7, an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, and a registered member of the BACP. I am also fully insured and undergo regular supervision.

I have been working with people in various therapeutic roles for over 30 years. I am also an experienced natural health practitioner, astrologer, and yoga teacher.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Psychosynthesis is the process of re- integrating those lost parts of ourselves - not only the painful facets of our past, but also the potential of who we could become. I use a variety of tools to help you gain insight into how you feel about your life, what you really want, and what you don't want. I am there to support your worldview and help you navigate the difficulties you encounter in ways that work best for you.

If you are looking to work with someone who has a broader spiritual perspective on life, then I might be right for you. When we enter the world, we are unique souls who need to be loved, seen, and cared for unconditionally. Regardless of how good our upbringing may have been, many of us grow up feeling unseen and unheard and ultimately end up losing sight of who we really are.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
