About me
Hello, my name is Tara and I run Sunray Counselling and Psychotherapy. Thanks for clicking on my profile. I hope you find what you need here.
If you’re based in the UK, I can offer you warm, compassionate, inclusive, and person-centred counselling either online or over the phone, that meets you exactly where you are today. No judgement, just gentle, consistent support and genuine care from one human being to another.
I work with a wide range of people aged 18+ and will support you to find direction with whatever is weighing heavy on you. Whether you are feeling completely lost, navigating a massive life shift, or just tired of wearing a mask for everyone else, you deserve a space where you can be heard, respected, and genuinely cared about.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor. Very simply, my role is to be right beside you so you can safely start to explore who you are on a deeper level, because you are the expert on you.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, this means that I use some skills and techniques from different types of therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt Therapy.
Being an integrative therapist is a bit like having a toolbox full of really unique approaches that you can use at different times, for different things. It all depends on what you need during our time together
Neurodivergent, transgender, and LGBTQ+ clients are welcomed and valued within my practice. I also have specialist training in pre- and post-bereavement grief therapy.
It's a big decision to start therapy, and it's so important to find a therapist that gets you. I offer a free 15 minute introductory video call or phone call to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.
All parts of you are welcome at Sunray Counselling and Psychotherapy. Bring all the emotions and feelings to me that you can’t bring to others, and you will be safely held by me to explore them. I’m not here to ‘fix’ you, because I don’t believe you are broken. I’m here to meet you exactly as you are today.
Making the choice to start therapy can be a tough one. But it's a brave one. Together we can unpick where your feelings come from, and how you can start to move forward.
You don't have to carry this alone. I am here to help.
