About me
If you are thinking about counselling perhaps you are struggling to cope with life's challenges, you may feel that things are simply not turning our how you had hoped, or you may be confused about how you feel stuck in a loop where the same things keep happening.
I offer a warm, confidential place where you are free to explore your concerns without fear of judgement. Talking things through with a counsellor can help make sense of what is going on for you and bring clarity and insight to replace the confusion. I believe that each of us has the inner resources to change life’s direction towards something which feels more aligned with who we truly are, a unique individual, and counselling can be the catalyst to discovering and utilising those resources.
I work individually with adults either in-person or online.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have experience working with loss, anxiety, low mood, relationship problems and in my spare time offer counselling pre and post bereavement at a local hospice.
I have a firm belief in the value of the therapeutic relationship, working psychodynamically to understand how your past, and unconscious processes affect the way you are experiencing life, and using existential theory (which looks at the innate challenges of being human) to understand how we can find meaning in our lives to face the future with a stronger sense of who we are.
My background is in the corporate world and the challenges that this can bring in terms of the expectation to succeed. I enjoy connecting with others and am a lover of nature and outdoor spaces; this is where I go to recharge my own batteries.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
