About me

Have you ever wanted help but struggled to find the right words?

Maybe talking feels overwhelming, intimidating, or even triggering. Perhaps you’ve tried counselling before but didn’t feel truly heard or understood.

You might be:

Experiencing anxiety, depression, or work-related stress
Living with a mental health condition, personality disorder, or neurodivergence
Processing trauma, harm, or distressing life events
Exploring your gender, sexuality, or identity
Navigating family challenges or feeling like something in life just doesn’t sit right
Or maybe you simply want to be seen and heard for who you are.

As a HCPC-registered Art Therapist with a background in talking therapies, I offer a unique blend of both—combining creative expression with therapeutic conversation to explore whatever you bring to the space.

Why Art Therapy?

You don’t need to be “good” at art to benefit. Art therapy isn’t an art class—it’s a space to connect with your inner world using materials like paint, clay, collage, beading and more. The process can help you:

Express things that feel too difficult to say out loud
Regulate emotions while exploring painful or complex experiences
Understand and shift unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour
Connect with your inner child and rediscover a sense of play
Boost self-esteem and improve your relationship with yourself
Rewire neural pathways and support trauma recovery
Access parts of your subconscious that talk therapy alone might not reach
Art therapy can be especially powerful for people who find traditional talking therapies difficult—for example, those who are neurodivergent, struggle with eye contact, or prefer nonlinear ways of thinking and expression.

How I Work

I use an integrative model, drawing from a range of approaches including:

Person-centred and psychodynamic counselling
Transactional analysis and inner child therapy
Techniques from Gestalt, CBT, mindfulness, and drama therapy
At the heart of my practice is a humanistic approach—I believe you are the expert on your life, and therapy is about empowering you to reconnect with your own inner resources and wisdom.

My Experience

With 9 years working in trauma services, I offer a deeply trauma-informed practice. This includes:

Supporting regulation and safety during sessions
Recognising and working with trauma-related conditions such as PTSD, complex PTSD, BPD, and anxiety disorders
Working with survivors of sexual violence, domestic abuse, and childhood abuse
Supporting young people with developmental trauma impacting emotional, social, or psychological growth

As a queer therapist, I also specialise in Gender, Sexual and Romantic Diversity (GSRD). I work with LGBTQIA+ individuals, people in ethically non-monogamous relationships, those exploring kink or BDSM, and anyone who feels outside mainstream relationship or identity norms.

For Trainee Therapists & Supervisees

Alongside my private practice, I’m a Lecturer at a prominent university in Manchester, where I train the next generation of counsellors and therapists. I offer both talking and art-based supervision, using the Seven-Eyed Model to help supervisees explore their unconscious processes and ethical practice. My strong grounding in the BACP framework makes me a supportive and insightful supervisor.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Premises are wheelchair accessible, however there is a door bar that creates a bump at the front door. There is a large hallway outside the therapy room where wheelchairs or other aids can be left safely if you wish to do so.
