About me

Sometimes, life gets hard. You’re doing your best, but it still feels like a struggle. Meeting with a qualified therapist can provide insight and support, and help you find your way forwards.

Whatever your reasons for wanting support, I provide a warm, non-judgemental space for you to confidentially explore whatever you wish to.

Psychotherapy can be challenging, and creating change is not always easy, but working with someone you trust can make the process less daunting. I’m known for my ability to create a warm and accepting rapport, combined with a
willingness to challenge.

As an Integrative psychotherapist, my framework is holistic and draws on a range of different approaches. These take into account your upbringing, culture, past and present relationships, physical and mental health concerns and (where relevant) your spiritual beliefs.

I work in a relational, integrative way. This means that the therapeutic relationship between my clients and myself is at the heart of my work, and that I integrate a range of different therapeutic theories to suit both who I am as a person, and who you are as my client. Although giving a name to what you are experiencing is sometimes helpful, I aim to treat you as the multi-faceted, fascinating human being that you are rather than as a single diagnosis. My goal is to help you find the way forward that works best for you.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and the Metanoia Institute, and I work to their ethical codes.

I work with adults aged 18 and over.

Working with the right person is key. If you are interested in working with me, please check out my website for more information. I offer a free, no-obligation phone call to see if we are right for one another. Please send an email as the first point of contact to arrange this.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Like all qualified psychotherapists, I can work with a wide range of issues, including serious mental health diagnoses. I also have a personal interest in working with:

Trauma

I am particularly interested in the effects of trauma, especially sexual abuse and early relational trauma, and have significant experience helping people to soothe traumatised nervous systems. I often integrate elements of somatic psychotherapy in this work.

Identity

Confusion about one's sense of self can arise from a variety of situations - because of the effects of abuse, due to sudden life-change such as the end of a career or an 'empty nest', the end of a relationship, and many more. I have considerable experience helping people explore their sense of self and utilise life-changing experiences as a catalyst for positive growth and increased self-awareness.

Sexuality

I work in an open-minded way when helping clients who are exploring sexuality, gender, and alternative relationship styles. I am sex-worker friendly and kink-aware.

Sprituality

I have a special interest in helping people explore the effects of controlling, coercive or abusive religious upbringings, and enabling them to explore spiritual independence.
