About me

I offer trauma‑informed, culturally responsive counselling for adults navigating experiences such as childhood sexual abuse, domestic abuse, bereavement, identity‑based harm, and the emotional impact of inequality and discrimination. Many people come to me carrying stories that feel heavy, complex, or difficult to speak about. You don’t need to have the “right” words - we begin wherever you are.

My practice is grounded in compassion, cultural understanding, and a therapeutic relationship built on safety and trust. I integrate trauma theory, intersectionality, and cultural humility, recognising that our identities, histories, and lived experiences shape how we cope, how we relate to others, and how we heal.

In our sessions, your voice is centred and your pace is respected. I don’t rush or push; instead, we work steadily and collaboratively to help you reconnect with yourself, make sense of what has happened, and rebuild a sense of stability, strength, and self‑worth. My role is to walk alongside you - offering a calm, confidential space where you can explore your experiences without judgement or pressure.

Whether you are processing trauma, navigating a life transition, or seeking a therapeutic space where your identity and lived experience are fully understood, Phoenix Counselling 1814 provides a grounded and supportive environment for healing.

I offer a free 20‑minute consultation so you can get a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you. I reply within 24 hours with warmth, clarity, and care.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
