About me

Maya Angelou said, “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” Speaking openly about your feelings can help you reclaim your strength and insight.

Carl Jung said, “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.

Bob Marley said, “Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you’re living?” Talking and exploring your inner world in a safe space can help you gain insight, clarity, and a sense of direction.

Hi, I'm Sheryl a

Person Centred Counsellor, incorporating  Family Constellations.

Providing a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Where helpful, I also integrate Family Constellation work, offering a gentle way to explore family patterns and relationships, supporting deeper understanding and personal growth.

My approach is collaborative, focusing on both what is said and what may be difficult to express. I aim to help you uncover patterns, gain clarity, and find your own solutions to life’s challenges. Alongside talking therapy, I use creative and experiential tools such as guided meditation, therapeutic cards, and sand tray work, tailoring sessions to your individual needs.

With over ten years of experience in bereavement, palliative care, sexual violence support, anxiety, and depression, I bring professional expertise and genuine empathy to every session. I understand that every journey is unique, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they explore, heal, and grow.

Whether your goal is self-acceptance, building healthy boundaries, healing past wounds, or finding purpose, I am here to support you in a safe, supportive space, helping you move toward meaningful change.

Some Commonly Asked Questions
How can counselling help me?
Counselling can be helpful if you’re experiencing: Mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, physical health concerns, including weight-related issues, life changes or difficult events, such as bereavement, relationship breakdowns, or work stress, strong or difficult emotions, like low self-esteem, anger, or feeling stuck.

What can I expect in a counselling session?
In our sessions, you’ll have a safe space to express your thoughts and emotions with a trained, friendly therapist. I’m here to listen without judgment or criticism. Together, we’ll explore your feelings and thought processes, helping you uncover your own solutions. I don’t give direct advice; my role is to support you in finding your own path.

How much do sessions cost?
I offer a sliding scale, with a minimum fee of £60. You’re welcome to choose a higher amount if it better suits your budget.

Do I need to attend weekly?
Weekly sessions are widely recommended as they help address ongoing challenges, track progress, and build a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Short-term or long-term therapy – which is right for me?
This depends on your needs. Together, we’ll create a personalised approach, whether short-term support or deeper, long-term work is most suitable.

What if I’m having a bad day and don’t feel like attending?
It’s normal to feel this way sometimes. Attending sessions, even on tough days, can bring clarity and insight, helping you feel supported when you need it most.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Regrettably, the dimensions and placement of the door pose challenges for wheelchair access to the restroom facilities. Wheelchairs can be left outside to facilitate access to the restroom on the ground floor. My therapy room is wheelchair friendly
