About me

Engaging in communication can provide an opportunity for self-discovery, helping you explore and understand the emotions tied to the circumstances in your life. Whilst friends and families can offer support, they may sometimes be too close to the situation making it difficult to share openly, in such cases, speaking with an impartial third party might be more beneficial.

Counselling can be a transformative and empowering experience. I have personally found it to be life changing through discussions with to a caring and compassionate professional in an empathetic therapeutic environment.

It is crucial for you to find someone you feel comfortable with, someone who understands you, someone that " gets you" someone whom you feel you can build a trusting relationship with for your best possible outcome. I consider it a privilege to accompany clients on this private and personal journey.

Some commonly asked questions

How can  counselling help me?

Counselling can help when experiencing a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety.
- An upsetting physical health condition, such as over and underweight issues.
- A difficult life event, such as bereavement, a relationship breakdown, or work-related stress
- Difficult emotions, for example, low self-esteem or anger.

Here's what to expect from your counselling session!

When you come in, you'll have the chance to talk or express your feelings and emotions with a friendly, trained therapist. I'm  here to listen and support you without any judgment or criticism.  I can help you explore your feelings and thought processes, guiding you to uncover your own solutions to whatever’s on your mind. Just a heads up, I usually won’t give direct advice or tell you what to do—it's all about helping you find your own way!

How much will each session cost?

I have a sliding scale for fees, with a minimum payment of £60. You are also welcome to choose a higher amount if you feel it aligns better with your budget.

Would I be expected to turn up every week?

Numerous professionals suggest that engaging in weekly therapy sessions is a widely recognised and effective approach. Keeping this routine not only helps you tackle ongoing challenges but also lets you see how far you've come and strengthens the bond you build with your therapist.

Will short term or long term therapy suit me best

Choosing between short-term and long-term therapy really comes down to what works best for you. It's not just about which option is more effective or faster; it's all about finding the right fit for your needs. Together, we’ll create a personalized approach that considers your unique situation, determining when short-term solutions are just right or when a more in-depth, long-term commitment might be the way to go.

What if I am having a really bad day and I do not feel like attending ?

We all have those days when life just feels a bit tough, right? It’s totally normal to struggle with trying to lift yourself up during those times. From my own experience, I’ve found that attending  sessions can really help shed some light on what you’re going through or feeling stuck by. Plus, it's a great chance to chat with your therapist while you're in the thick of it; sometimes these conversations can bring out amazing insights!

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Regrettably, the dimensions and placement of the door pose challenges for wheelchair access to the restroom facilities. As an alternative, the wheelchair can be left outside to facilitate access to the restroom on the ground floor.
