About me

Choosing a counsellor can feel a complex and overwhelming process to trust someone to share your deepest inner thoughts, feelings, or experiences.

I hope by reading more about me and how I work will help you decide in what way I can support you with your physical and emotional wellbeing.

I am a qualified counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I work with Children, Young People, and Adults.

I offer a safe, friendly, confidential, space to listen and understand what is going on for you from your perspective. Together we will work, without judgement or shame, at your pace to explore your concerns, and gain insight into what changes you want to make to move forward in your life.

In developing our trusting relationship, my approach is respectful, supportive, and adaptable to your needs.

My counselling style is both Person Centered* and Transactional Analysis** based, to facilitate personal growth and change, and to fulfil your potential in all areas of your life.

If you would prefer to have your counselling sessions in a calm outside environment, I also offer Ecotherapy: Walk and Talk Therapy*** supporting you to connect with nature and your emotions in a variety of locations and settings.

I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on your journey and in the next chapter of your life.

*Person Centre Counselling is based on the counsellor offering the right conditions to explore our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviours in discovering our ability to work through our issues.

**Transactional Analysis is based on exploring our personality, how this has been shaped by our childhood experiences which in turn influence our relationships with others.

*** Ecotherapy: Walk and Talk Therapy enables us to use the outside environment to physically relax our bodies, calm our minds and open up to a new and positive way of thinking and feeling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
