About me

I am an experienced Person-Centred and Integrative Counsellor working in Lincoln, UK. With over 14 years experience working in Mental Health, with both a clinical and strategic background, I now offer a holistic approach to therapy and healing. It is my belief that the mind, body and soul need to function harmoniously. By listening to your needs I can offer a range of therapies that are suited to you as a Counsellor that offers a broad spectrum of therapies and approaches. Spirituality and my relationship with Nature are an integral and interwoven part of my work. Integrating traditional approaches from a number of lenses can bring about much deeper insights and healing.

Professional Background
I began working as a therapist in a newly established Staff Wellbeing Service providing individualised support and intervention to staff. Working on a one-to-one basis, across teams and the organisation as a whole, this experience led me to a more expansive role .

In 2021, I took on a strategic role in the National initiative to deliver Health and Wellbeing Hubs to Health and Social Care staff across the UK. My role involved outreach and engagement with staff working in Lincolnshire in a range of organisations, both public and private sector to understand their unique challenges. Based on these findings, I created a broad spectrum of wellbeing offers; responsive to the needs of approximately 35,000 staff.

In 2020 I also started my private practise ‘Thrive’ – the name resonant with my own perspective on going beyond survival and living to thriving.  Within my practise, I integrate Counselling, Coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Mindfulness teaching.

Outdoor Therapy
I have also trained more holistically in Outdoor Therapy, Reiki/Energy Healing and more recently qualified as a Shamanic Practitioner. I have a deep connection with the natural world, the plants, environments and animals. Integrating this work with therapeutic process can bring about much deeper insights and healing. I am passionate about working with clients and their whole self. Working purely with the mind, in my opinion, and backed by many others versed in somatic work – provides a limited understanding and progression in self-discovery.

Staff Wellbeing
In addition, I have also provided staff wellbeing initiatives and services to Festival sites in the outdoor entertainment industry. This work has proven beneficial for many staff that work in physically demanding roles, both in time and labour. Providing them with safe spaces for decompression, debrief, rest and reset strategies, while building up better coping strategies. This is a line of work I am currently developing. Health and Safety should not be a policy with an accompanying checklist of basic needs being met. Some staff often spend more of their wakeful hours at work during their week than they do at home with their loved ones. If we want to improve the products, service and experience with an organisation we have direct route into this through its workforce.

I can work with a broad range of life experiences and difficulties ranging from common mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and stress alongside, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, interpersonal conflict and trauma. I work one to one with people and I do not offer couples counselling. If you are seeking relationship counselling as a couple please ensure you check your therapist has received the appropriate training for this.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
