About me

Who I Am

I am Sarah Stone (MBACP), an experienced counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP. I founded and run Wellstone Therapy, a therapy service in the heart of Totnes. I offer both in-person and online sessions.

Who I Work With

I support people experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, low mood and depression, bereavement and grief, relationship and family difficulties, life changes, and the emotional impact of chronic illness and disability, including Long COVID, alongside a wide range of other concerns.

I have a particular interest in relationships and the impact they can have on wellbeing, including family dynamics, parenting challenges, and difficult or complex relational experiences. As a triplet and a mother of twins, I also understand the complexities of family life and the pressures that can come with parenting and close relationships.

My Approach

With experience supporting a diverse range of clients, I offer a warm, professional and collaborative approach to therapy. I provide a genuine, safe and confidential space where we can explore what is important to you, support meaningful change, and work together towards your goals.

My integrative approach allows me to draw on different therapeutic perspectives and tailor our work to your individual needs.

My Service

Wellstone Therapy is based in Totnes, South Hams, Devon, with sessions available in person and online across the UK.

Free 15-minute phone or video consultations are available to help you decide if counselling with Wellstone Therapy feels right for you.

I use Carepatron for video consultations and online sessions, a secure, GDPR-compliant telehealth platform. You do not need to download anything; simply click the secure link sent to you when your free consultation is confirmed.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
