About me

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck? I offer a warm, confidential space to talk things through — whether you’re struggling with anxiety, ADHD, low self-esteem or life changes. You're not alone, and you don’t have to do this by yourself.

🟨 About Me
Welcome — I’m Sarah, a BACP-registered counsellor and founder of The Talking Room Surrey. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can talk freely, feel heard, and begin to make sense of whatever’s weighing you down.

You may be feeling anxious, low in confidence, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted. Perhaps you’re navigating challenges like ADHD, autism, perfectionism, relationship stress, bereavement, or low self-esteem. You might feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand, or just not quite yourself lately.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Therapy can help you gain clarity, understand your experiences, and feel more grounded in yourself and your life.

🌱 What You Might Be Feeling
“I’m overwhelmed all the time.”
“I feel numb or disconnected.”
“I’m overthinking everything — even the small stuff.”
“No one really sees how much I’m struggling.”
If any of that sounds familiar, counselling could offer the space you need to breathe, talk, and begin to move forward.

🔹 How I Work
I’m an integrative-relational therapist, which means I adapt therapy to suit you — drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic, humanistic and Gestalt approaches. Some sessions may focus on what’s happening now, others may explore how the past is still affecting you.

Above all, the therapeutic relationship is central. It’s your space to speak freely — with warmth, honesty, and no judgement.

💬 Clients often come to me with:
Anxiety, panic attacks & health anxiety
Low self-esteem & perfectionism
ADHD, autism, dyslexia & neurodiversity
Emotional abuse, people-pleasing & boundary issues
Bereavement, grief, and loss
Stress & burnout (including work-related)
Relationship and family difficulties
Feeling sad, numb or stuck

🤝 Starting Therapy
I understand reaching out can feel daunting. That’s why I offer a reduced-fee initial session (£25) — a chance for us to meet, talk about what’s going on, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure to continue.

If we decide to go ahead, sessions are 50 minutes and take place weekly — short-term or open-ended, depending on what you need.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

Taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting, and it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with. That’s why I offer an initial consultation at a reduced fee of £25—a chance for us to meet, explore what’s bringing you to therapy, and see if we’re the right fit, with no obligation to continue.

If we decide to work together, we’ll meet weekly at the same time for 50-minute sessions. My practice provides a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can explore your concerns in a way that feels safe and manageable.
