About me

Hi, I'm Sarah a Person-Centred counsellor based in Bristol working in person and online.

I offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can explore whatever you wish to at your own pace, your story matters.

People seek counselling for all sorts of reasons and it's ok not to know exactly what you want to say. Perhaps you're in the midst of grief or loss, struggling with anxiety or depression or experiencing change or transition. Maybe it feels clear what you wish to talk about or perhaps feelings are harder to grasp and make sense of. At times there are things that might be hard to tell family or friends, know you are welcome to bring anything to therapy.

It can feel daunting to ask for support and to choose someone to contact. Finding a counsellor who you feel comfortable with and can build trust with is a key part of effective therapy.  As such if you feel ready to reach out you can contact me to book a free 20 minute chat to see if you might like to work with me or to ask any questions you might have.

A little about the counselling I offer

My foundation is Person-Centred in that I see you as the expert in your own life, my role is not to direct or advise but to facilitate you deepening trust in yourself and your choices. I integrate therapeutic theories that align with the Person-Centred model and are in service to your journey of growth and healing, I am guided by what feels helpful to you and your goals.

I trust that you have the resources and wisdom within to choose the path that's right for you and to become who you truly and uniquely are. My role is one of being alongside you with acceptance, warmth and curiosity as you reflect on your life, relationships and experiences. I am there to support you and create a safe haven as you connect with your feelings, explore and move towards accepting and understanding yourself.

In sessions we might look at:

-Past experiences and how these have shaped you

-Exploring emotions and feelings

-Patterns that repeat in your life and relationships

-Ways of being or thinking that no longer serve you

-Exploring who you are and reconnecting with your core self

-Your innate wisdom to heal and grow

Inclusion and diversity is at the heart of the way I work, I deeply believe everyone has the right to be heard and respected. Being alongside others as they discover their unique selves is my passion and it is always an honour to witness someone moving towards greater wholeness and authenticity.

I abide by the code of ethics drawn up by the NCPS and attend regular supervision and CPD.
