About me
I am a highly experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I offer Counselling to clients and Supervision to Counsellors. You will be welcomed into a warm, safe, trusting, non-judgemental, empathic, supportive environment this is necessary as foundation for counselling.
Counselling is not advice giving; you are in control and will make the choices. Together we will create a working relationship. It may have taken great courage for you to seek a counsellor, by looking here you have already taken the first step toward opening up a world of possibility and opportunity. We can work toward your goals.
I offer individual counselling, couples counselling and young people, and helped those to come to terms with such issues as depression, anxiety, narcissistic behaviours, relationship issues such as affairs and betrayals or separation and divorce, anxiety, mental health issues, alcohol and substance misuse, self harm, sexual issues and sexual identity issues, trauma, physical and sexual abuse both adult and childhood, bereavement, loss, change, stress, low self esteem or self worth, OCD, and Aspergers syndrome to name a few.
Counselling can help give clarity on many different issues, counselling is a safe place to explore where you can feel supported, many clients find the process of talking to someone not already known to them hugely beneficial and this has enabled them to move forward with their lives, by exposing patterns of behaviour or out of date coping mechanisms, you can achieve something to build your hopes and desires and a new future upon. I will be there to support you through this time of change.
Supervision & Development
I take regular supervision to ensure I am adhering to the BACP ethical framework and refresh my knowledge and practice by undertaking continual professional development. Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
