About me
I am a down to earth and friendly counsellor who welcomes all varieties of people into my practice. I’d like to help you to get the best out of your counselling journey. Together we can work towards your better life.
Why work with me?
I want you to feel emotionally held, and understood, as though you are cared for because in my practice you truly are. I do care and I carry a sincere empathic understanding for all people.
How I work
I offer a confidential and non-judgmental place for you to explore what’s on your mind. I do this with compassion at the heart of my work and offer you a personalised therapeutic approach based on your needs.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life. So I will not offer advice but will help you to reconnect to your inner strengths. This will help you gain a clearer view on how to overcome your challenges and move forward in your life
My therapeutic approach
I work in an integrative way which means I use different theories depending on what seems best during our sessions. The theories I prefer are Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and CBT.
I have a depth of experience in narcissistic abuse and recovery from this. This is a particular type of abuse that can happen to anyone and is often insidious in its presentation. It can happen in any type of relationship but often does the most harm when it is perpetrated by a loved one.
I hold a particular interest in trauma and how it can impact on different elements of our lives. Unresolved trauma can manifest within our bodies without us even knowing. For this reason, I work within a trauma-informed approach.
I also have relevant experience in working with people who have had a recent or historical health diagnosis and the uncertainty that comes along with this.
Who I work with
I work on a one to one basis with adults over the age of 18.
You may be experiencing discomfort in your life and feel that you have anxiety or depression, you may have had troubles in your past that might be resurfacing now, you might have been diagnosed with a new health condition or maybe a family member has. It could be that life is just getting on top of you and you need an outlet.
If this sounds familiar or you have different problems please do get in touch.
If this is your first time having counselling I’d like to say well done for making that first move. It can be a daunting prospect and feel scary, the right therapist will make you feel at ease. I hope that person will be me.
Many thanks for viewing my page.
Training, qualifications & experience
- CPCAB level 2 in Counselling Skills
- CPCAB level 3 in Counselling Studies
- CPCAB level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- BACP Certificate of Proficiency
My early career was in accountancy and I worked in different roles for a wide range of companies for approximately 15 years.
After being made redundant and becoming a stay-at-home mum I began to develop a keen interest in human behaviour. Adverse life events led me to explore the world of counselling and this began my journey into changing my career.
I began my counselling studies back in 2020 and have taken part in many CPDs in topics that interest me and what I would find helpful in my counselling practice.
I have 10 years of experience working in a supportive role at the MS Society, helping newly diagnosed individuals and providing ongoing support for those with additional needs due the complex nature of MS.
I have provided long term therapy to women while working at a women's centre as a counsellor. This involved supporting women who were at a point of crisis in their lives and had most likely suffered from domestic abuse.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
