About us
We all want to feel safe. Yet for many of us, our own minds can feel like the most difficult place to be, where a sense of safety feels out of reach. My mission is to meet you where you are, to understand the challenges you are facing, and to support you in creating a mind that feels safer, kinder, and more supportive over time.
Welcome to Safe Space, an affordable counselling service, providing hourly sessions for £40. I am a qualified female therapist and work from a Person-Centred approach, believing that you are the expert in your own life and that healing and growth happen when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. I welcome all adult individuals from all backgrounds and life stages. I offer a calm, non-judgemental, supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself, gain clarity, and move towards greater emotional well-being.
Training, qualifications & experience
Qualifications
- Fdsc Person Centred Counselling (University of East Anglia)
- NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
- NCFE CACHE Level 1 certificate in Interpersonal Skills
I have experience working within substance misuse services, where I have supported individuals at various stages of recovery. My practice included the use of motivational interviewing to encourage engagement, promote positive behaviour change and empower individuals to identify and work towards their own recovery goals. I recognise that recovery is a complex and non-linear journey often influenced by psychological, social, and environmental factors. I approach all my work with empathy, patience and a non-judgmental attitude.
In separate roles, I have supported individuals, both remotely and face-to-face, with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family issues, sexual abuse and neurodivergent experiences.
In addition to my practical experience, I have undertaken continuing professional development in key areas including anxiety, menopause-related challenges, trauma and addiction. This training has enhanced my understanding of the complex and interconnected factors that can impact mental health and informed my ability to provide sensitive, informed, trauma-aware support tailored to individual needs.
In all my roles, my work is guided by the BACP ethical framework.
Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
