About me
Hello and welcome, I’m Rukeyah 🪷
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected in your relationships, or unsure where to turn next. Whatever has led you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
I am a fully qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor, of 10 years, offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever may be troubling you at your own pace. Beginning counselling can feel daunting, and my aim is to help you feel supported, heard and understood from our very first contact.
Clients often describe me as warm, approachable and easy to talk to. I place great importance on creating a calm and trusting space where you feel emotionally safe, understood and never judged.
I work in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way, respecting each client’s background, identity, values and lived experience
I work integratively, meaning I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than using a “one size fits all” approach. Alongside person-centred counselling, I draw from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness and motivational interviewing, and where helpful, creative approaches such as art, drawing and play. This allows therapy to meet you where you are and support deeper emotional understanding and change.
I support clients with difficulties including, but not limited to:
- Anxiety and worry
- Low mood and depression
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Parenting challenges
- Life transitions and identity
- Emotional regulation in children and young people
Individual counselling
I offer therapy for adults, young people and children aged 5+, supporting a wide range of emotional and life challenges including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, stress, life transitions, identity, relationships and past experiences. Sessions focus on creating a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can speak openly and feel emotionally safe.
Couples counselling
Relationships can feel challenging at times, especially when communication breaks down or emotional distance grows. I offer couples counselling to support partners in exploring patterns, improving communication, rebuilding trust and developing a deeper understanding of one another in a respectful and balanced space.
Family counselling
Family life can bring both connection and conflict. Family sessions provide an opportunity to explore dynamics, strengthen relationships and work through difficulties together, supporting healthier communication and understanding within the family system.
Counselling for children, young people & parents
I have experience working with children and adolescents using creative and age appropriate therapeutic approaches to help them express emotions they may struggle to put into words. I also support parents who are seeking counselling for their child, offering guidance, reassurance and collaborative work to support the child’s emotional wellbeing.
Practical details:
I offer short-term and open-ended therapy, with sessions ideally taking place weekly to support continuity and progress.
Appointments are available face-to-face, online or by telephone.
I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate.
If you are considering counselling and would like to ask questions or explore whether I am the right therapist for you or your family, please feel free to contact me via telephone, text or email. Taking the first step is often the hardest, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
