About me
Thank you for clicking into my profile, I hope you’ll read on.
I’ve tried not to write this in ‘counsellor speak’. Not because I don’t know that language, I do, but because I want you to feel comfortable with me from the start. I don’t believe that begins with jargon 😊.
I work with adults, young people and children aged 5 and over. Most of my work is in person, in St Andrews, but I also offer online sessions where needed - particularly for those with busy lives or who travel for work.
Without knowing what brought you here, I already know you’ve made a brave choice. Even taking that first step of looking at yourself or reaching out for support, can feel hard, especially hard to feel if it’s not something you’ve done before.
If you’re a parent, searching for help for you child, I empathise with where you are, simply trying to do your best by them. I will do my best to help and support your child or young person too. Having been in that position myself, I know how important it is to find someone to trust with my child’s emotional wellbeing, I hope I can be that person for you.
For all my clients, adults, young people and children, I provide a space to hold up the issues you’re having and look at them through a safe lens, together. We’ll be curious about what is going on, taking time to understand the problem, and crucially, why. Why do I feel like this? Why is this so hard? Will this feeling ever go away? Why can’t I just get a good night’s sleep?
I’d like to help you. If something here rings true for you, I’m confident I can support you, or your child/young person. You’re very welcome to contact me for a free phone call, so we can see whether I feel like the right fit for you or your child/young person.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Therapies offered
Fees
£50.00 per session
Additional information
The fee is £50 for a full 60 minutes counselling session. Please get in touch and we can have an initial consultation to ensure that I am a suitable counsellor for you.
The reason I offer the full 60 minutes is that I believe the most important part of the therapy process is the relationship, we will ease into every session in a way that is comfortable for you.
Children and young people may not be comfortable with the full hour, this will be fully led by the child or young person, their voice being the most important.
