About me
Hi, I’m Roz (Rosalyn) Jenkins and I’m a Psychological Therapist offering compassionate and individualised psychological therapy, clinical supervision and training in the Stockport area and beyond through working online.
When you’re struggling with life it can be hard to know where to start with reaching out for support and expressing yourself when you are talking to others. From personal experience of reaching out to therapists it can be difficult to know who is the right person for you.
My priority from your first contact with me until our final appointment is to make you feel safe and supported to work together to make sense of and treat the issues you are facing.
I’ve been working in mental health for over 20 years, and am an approachable, dedicated, and compassionate Psychological Therapist.
I specialise in treating adults (age 18+) who have experienced trauma and adverse life events, low self-confidence, depression and anxiety related difficulties, and specialise in working with neurodivergent clients.
I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). With this range of approaches available to us I am sure I can offer you what you need to help you through your difficulties.
I work with clients who may be struggling with a range of issues. During our initial sessions, we will talk about what your current issues are specifically and, if it feels appropriate, we will delve deeper into the link between past and present experiences. After this we will work together to develop a plan for addressing what we need to in a way that helps you achieve your goals.
Training, qualifications & experience
Throughout the twenty years I have been working as in mental health, latterly as a Senior Psychological Therapist in the NHS, working with adults, I have developed experience in a wide range of evidence based therapeutic approaches. These include:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Along with my core therapy approaches I have also completed additional training in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and the use of somatic/body focused interventions, along with therapies designed for those experiencing dissociative symptoms.
I have worked with adults with complicated emotional difficulties, many of whom have experienced trauma in their lives, and have specialised in working with neurodivergent clients.
I have also worked with people who have less complicated lives and difficulties to work through current issues and help them understand patterns in relationships and in their thoughts and their behaviour that they would like to change.
I offer clinical supervision to peers.
