About me

Therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and reconnect with yourself. For many of us, emotional regulation and expression weren't things we were taught at school or at home. You might have become very good at keeping going, without ever having had the space to understand what you’re feeling or why you respond in certain ways.

You don’t have to start therapy because something has gone terribly wrong. You might simply feel disconnected from yourself, find yourself repeating unhelpful patterns, or want to make more sense of who you are and how you relate to the world around you. I believe therapy can be valuable at different points throughout our lives, not just during times of crisis. It can be a space for healing, growth and developing a deeper connection with yourself, and in turn with the world around you.

My approach is holistic and humanistic, grounded in connection, curiosity, and compassion. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between mind and body, and how trauma and past experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves, relate to others, and show up in the world.

It starts with you. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and patterns, and how these may influence the way you relate to yourself, others and the wider world. My aim is for you to feel seen and heard, without judgement. I’ll listen with empathy, kindness and curiosity, while gently challenging where it feels helpful. I bring a range of life and work experience to my role as a therapist, along with the occasional dry humour (I’m human too). My role isn't to tell you who you are or what you should do, but to be alongside you as we make sense of what may sometimes feel nonsensical.

I’m a qualified person-centred therapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have experience working with grief, domestic abuse, refugees, childhood trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, long-term health conditions, neurodiversity and body image. I welcome clients from LGBTQ+ communities and people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.

As an experienced, trauma-informed yoga teacher, I can also offer brief mindfulness, grounding or breathwork in our sessions, if that feels helpful to you. These practices are always optional and never a requirement of therapy.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work, which is why finding the right therapist for you matters. I offer a free 15-minute informal call where we can talk about what brings you to therapy, what you're looking for and whether I might be a good fit for you.

“You are not a problem to solve; you are a pattern to understand.”

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
