About me
With a deep passion for helping others, I am a qualified counsellor dedicated to guiding clients through life's challenges with empathy, respect, and professionalism. My practice is shaped by the belief that everyone has the capacity for positive change.
Let's Work Together
My aim is to accompany you on your journey of self-discovery, offering support and an empathic, non-judgmental space in which you can explore and gain a greater understanding of yourself. If you're ready to take the next step, or have questions about counselling, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free, no obligation 20 minute phone or videocall consultation to allow us to see if counselling with me is a good fit for you.
If we decide that we would like to work together, sessions last 50 minutes and cost £50. Concessionary rates are available for those who are unemployed/ on a low income. I offer face-to-face sessions in Dunfermline and online sessions for clients based anywhere in the UK.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Edinburgh and a post graduate certificate in counselling children and young people from the University of Strathclyde. I have worked in diverse settings including schools, the NHS, a university counselling service and private practice. I am a registered member of the BACP and I am committed to ongoing professional development. I have completed further training in bereavement and loss, sandtray therapy, creative therapy methods and working with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma, among others.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My Approach
I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to share their thoughts and feelings. By using evidence-based techniques such as person-centred therapy and psychodynamic therapy, I hope to help you gain a greater understanding of yourself and others. Counselling is not advice-giving, but rather a supportive, facilitative environment in which you can explore your inner world without judgement.
