About me

I offer counselling that is both down-to-earth and deeply respectful of the individual. My approach is person-centred at heart, which means I won’t try to “fix” or analyse you. Instead, I’ll listen carefully, respond with empathy, and offer a relationship where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, without judgment or pressure.

Alongside my person-centred foundation, I also draw on existential, gestalt, humanistic, and integrative perspectives. These approaches can help us explore recurring patterns, questions of meaning and identity, or experiences of feeling lost, stuck, or disconnected.

I work with adults of all backgrounds, though I have a particular interest in men’s issues, including emotional isolation, relationships, fatherhood, midlife changes, and questions around purpose and masculinity. My aim is to provide a safe and genuine space where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of what is happening in your life.

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and can take place either in person at my practice in the Vale of Glamorgan or online for clients anywhere in the UK or abroad. Whether we meet face-to-face or virtually, I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to find your own way forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from the CPCAB, where my training was grounded in the person-centred approach. Alongside this, I have undertaken continuing professional development in areas such as existential and integrative therapy, trauma awareness, and working with men’s mental health.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework. My practice is supported by regular professional supervision and ongoing learning to ensure that my work remains ethical, reflective, and effective.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in fields that have given me a rich understanding of people’s varied lives and challenges. This experience helps me to meet clients as they are, with warmth, curiosity, and respect for the unique story each person brings.

I have experience supporting adults through a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, self-esteem, and life transitions. My work with men has also focused on themes such as loneliness, anger, and the pressures of modern masculinity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Much of my work focuses on supporting men’s mental health. Many men find it difficult to talk about their feelings, or have grown up believing they need to stay strong, hide vulnerability, or cope alone. Over time, this can lead to loneliness, stress, relationship difficulties, or a sense of disconnection from oneself and others.

In therapy, I offer a space where men can speak freely and without judgement — a space to explore emotions, relationships, identity, fatherhood, sexuality, anger, or the pressures of work and expectation. We might look at what it means to be a man in the world today, or simply at what it means to be you.

My aim is to help men develop greater self-understanding and emotional ease — to find a steadier, more compassionate way of being with themselves and with those they love.

For clients who prefer to commit to a block of sessions, I offer a reduced rate for multiple bookings, which can make it easier to plan your therapy over time.

Payment is made in advance of each session (or block booking) by bank transfer.

If you’re unsure about anything, or would like to talk about your situation before committing, you’re very welcome to contact me, I’ll always do my best to find an arrangement that feels fair and manageable for you.

Further information

I understand how important it is to find the right therapist, someone you feel comfortable with and can trust. For that reason, I offer an initial session where we can talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain. This is a chance to see if working together feels right for you.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly, though I can offer some flexibility depending on your needs. My practice is based in the Vale of Glamorgan, and I also offer online sessions via a secure video platform.

I respond to all enquiries within 24 hours, and I’ll do my best to find a time that suits you. If I don’t currently have a space available, I can let you know when the next opening is likely.

My hope is that therapy provides a steady, compassionate space in which you can explore, reflect, and grow, a place where you can come as you are, and begin to discover who you might become.
